We are still without a dryer. . . well, kind of. You might remember that I mentioned a couple of posts back that we finally got our washer and dryer in our Memphis shipment, but that our dryer wasn't working when it was hooked up. Well, our relocation company paid to have someone come out and take a look at the dryer. We figured it had to be a problem with the dryer, since we had a full inspection of the house with an inspector before we closed escrow and no problems had come up in relationship to the washer or dryer hookups. Well the repair guy came out and took a look at it and determined the dryer was fine, but that there was a break in the electric line somewhere between the breaker and the outlet. Great. So we called the inspector and said something like, "Um, you missed something?" He explained that they don't really check that outlet anymore because most people aren't using electric dryers and many people modify that outlet to accommodate hot tubs and the like (???). Well, unfortunately we're one of the few families I guess with an electric dryer because our place in Memphis didn't have hookups for a gas dryer. We got a rough estimate of what it would cost us to do the electrical work and quickly figured out that it was going to cost us about $50 more just to buy a new gas dryer rather than do the electrical work. We opted for the new dryer, since in the long run it will save a lot of money anyways. The dryer was finally delivered on Tuesday, but they didn't hook it up. Nate made a trip to Home Depot last night to buy a hook up kit and will hopefully have a bit of time soon to try and get the dryer going. In the meantime, we have now been without a dryer since we moved out of our temporary apartment in Irvine--a good month and a half ago. Ugh.
This weekend for Conference we went to my parents' house to watch the Sunday sessions. My cousin Denise and hubby John Pedroza (and their cute little guy A.J.), and my cousin Tom and wifey Erica (and their cute little doll Harper) came out for dinner. Good times!
Nate is still as busy as ever, spending a lot of time on site at clients. Lately he's been having to go to Torrance and El Segundo (not exactly next door) more than he would like. Poor guy. He's truly battling the good 'ole SoCal traffic.
Savannah continues to get crazier and crazier. Thanks to Nana (my mom) she is now obsessed with doing Ring around the Rosie over and over and over and over again.

She's loving the change in seasons because she has discovered "punkins" and likes to point out every single one that she sees. I made her a pumpkin hat so she would even have a "punkin" to wear on her head.
I am now just short of being 24 weeks pregnant. I had an appointment with my OB/GYN earlier this week and things are looking fine, so all is good on the baby front!
Today Savannah and I went and met my dear friend Keilani Tanaka and her little boy Kai for lunch. Kei and her hubby Ryan were in our Stake in Tokyo and then moved back to the US a year before us. It's always good to see her. It's amazing how small the world is sometimes, isn't it?

Savannah is such a cutie! My mom and dad are nana and papa also! How frustrating for you guys and your laundry! It's nice to have a new one though! Ok, that hat you made is SO adorable! How long did it take you to make that? I really need to start my crocheting/knitting lessons soon! :)
I finally found you! I knew you had a family blog, but for some reason I had this address http://www.thehutchingshut.com/chickenscratch, but I was confused because it hasn't been updated, so I went to look it up in your facebook, but the address is incomplete so I got an error message, and then I just googled chickenscratch and found you.
You look so beautifuly pregnant! I'm so glad you'll have another girl. We miss going to MT with Savvy. Sounds like you guys are doing well. Life here is busy, busy (though I cannot think of specifics, but I go to bed exhausted and suddenly tomorrow is here and we do it all over again). What have you decided about a doctor? Last I heard you were trying to decide where to go. Savvy looks so big! She must be talking tons. Miss you!
Hey Rachael! You look great! I can't believe you have so much energy for all of the things you do! I love Savvy's pumpkin hat! Good work! She seems like she is so much fun!
Lookin' good. Sorry you had to buy a new dryer, but what girl doesn't love a new dryer?
So please enlighten us on your Gracious Hospitality bit... for starters what exactly was it and how do you get your fingers into just about everything going on in this world! You are amazing! Sorry about the dryer bit though.
Did you make Savvy's pumpkin hat? It's darling! Just like your dryer, we have a similar situation with our stove, the cost of fixing the oven is the same as buying a new one! Hopefully you've had some nice weather in sunny CA to sun/air dry your clothes. :-)
yea for the update, it was good to see you
