On Saturday we met up with my parents and went to The Pumpkin Patch at Live Oak Canyon Christmas Tree Farm in Redlands (California), which is owned by a family in my parents' ward.
There is a ton to do, from picking pumpkins, to a petting zoo, to hayrides and stuffing your face with carne asada fries (of course I would never do such a thing). :-)
I think the highlights of the day for us were watching Savannah in a total state of bliss in the petting enclosure and riding in a wheel barrow with the pumpkins we picked.
She had no fear around the animals and was delighted when my dad helped her to feed the goats. She LOVES pumpkins and would get excited with each pumpkin that was added to the wheelbarrow.
We did have a small heartstopping moment when I noticed a black widow spider in the wheelbarrow with Savannah near her legs, but we got it out and she lived for us to tell about it.Also on Saturday my Dad caught a small lizard for Savannah (they go lizard hunting every time we go to my parents' house, it's their tradition). She held the lizard by herself for the first time (usually she just gives the lizards kisses--no joke). In an email that my mom sent later that day to my brothers, she wrote, "She [Savannah] was quite excited. However, then we noticed some brown stuff on her wrist and thought maybe the lizard had the poop scared out of him by being held. When Savvy finally relinquished the lizard, we discovered the poor thing had been crushed to death between her eager fingers. She'd squeezed the guts right out of him (her?). Ewwww…. It's probably a good thing she can't catch lizards by herself yet."
Savannah's current obsessions, besides pumpkins, are books and shoes.

One of her favorite times of the day is sitting down with Nate and night to read books.
Savvy-ism of the week: Savannah was sitting in her highchair playing with a favorite stuffed dog the other day. She flipped the dog over so that the tail was facing her and noticed the little tag that was near the tail. She pointed to the tag and said, "Poo poo!" She's daddy's girl all right.+--+Oct+21+(Tues)+001.jpg)

Like mother like daughter. I remember YOUR obsession with our shoes when you were 2-3 years old. You especially liked clomping around in my high heels, but I don't think Bob's sister Merilee and her husband, who lived below us in the basement apartment, were too fond of you at those moments.
I can't believe she squeezed the lizard to death! LOL too funny. We have so many lizards here at our house, she'd love it.
That is the sweetest picture of hannah and savannah! They really were so good, considering how boring it must have been for them!
How scary that there was a black widow right by her leg! I would have freaked out! The pumpkin patch looked like so much fun, maybe Dan and I can find some time next week to take the girls.
Those pictures of Savannah playing with the shoes is really cute. I can remember playing with my mom's high heels and my dad's cowboy boots!
What a cutie!! And it is a good thing she can't catch lizards yet!
That poor lizard! Caleb has done the same thing with worms, poor little critters! I love the first picture of Savvy holding hands with her friend, both with monkey back packs, too cute!
Omigosh!! Savvy is getting so old and cute! I can't wait till I see her in November! I love her little savvy-isms. They are so funny! And yes, like everyone else said, I loved the picture with her holding hands and found myself a little sad for the lizard...haha I can't wait to see you guys!
Tell me she isn't already spoken for because I want her as my dil...
She is a cute lil' pumpkin! I'm assuming you made the hat - I wish I lived closer to you guys so you can show me how to crochet like a pro!
